With traditional 600 dpi imaging, the original is scanned and printed at a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi (dpi refers to the actual number of perforations in the master that the digital duplicator produces from a scan). 600e dpi digitally enhances the 300 x 600 scanned data to emulate a 600 dpi output image. The perforations are paired, providing an appearance of a smoother line than is obtained with 300 x 600 dpi.
